Teaching – Tirana
Clergy wives and women lay leaders are encouraged to apply to this Team that will lead two retreats for clergy wives in Albania. Large group presentations, small discussion groups, reflection time and fellowship will round out the retreat. Topics such as the role of clergy wives and the role of women in the Church have been asked requested.
Share your own experience as a woman of faith and help others grow in Christ. His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania has invited this team to offer a Women’s retreat in Albania. Team members will share their life experience as women of faith, while offering retreat style presentations on what it means to be a clergy wife and lay leader in the Orthodox context.
In the 20th century, Albania fell under a communist regime and suffered the most severe religious persecution in the world; all forms of religion were constitutionally prohibited and by 1991, no Church infrastructure existed. This generation of clergy wives are looking for role models of Orthodox women who love and serve the Church. Under the guidance of His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania and along with the help of Orthodox missionaries, the Church is being resurrected and continues to flourish.
This Team will be lead by OCMC Assistant Mission Teams Director, Presbytera Renee Ritsi. Women and clergy wives who are active members of parish life are needed.
Share your Orthodox faith with women of Albania.
