Jesse & Juanita

Central America

Jesse Brandow and Juanita Pascual are an Orthodox missionary couple serving under the omophorion of His Eminence Iakovos, Metropolitan of Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Colombia and the Caribbean. Their ministry in Guatemala, specifically, is also under the blessing of His Grace Osios, Bishop of Sasima and Vicar of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

Jesse is from Michigan in the USA and graduated with a Master of Divinity from St. Vladimir’s Seminary in 2013. He began full-time mission work in 2015, teaching seminarians and lay catechists as well as producing Spanish-language Church publications. More recently, Jesse became a member of the Translations Committee of the Metropolis of Mexico and the Translations Department of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center. In this capacity, Jesse launched the website Liturgia Digital (https://liturgia.mx/) to improve access to Spanish liturgical texts. More than seven hundred Spanish service texts have been published on this website since its launch.

Juanita is from the village of Aguacate, Guatemala, and served as a community health worker at the Fr. Andrés Girón Orthodox Medical Clinic in Aguacate, before beginning medical school in 2017. In 2025, she completed her studies and residency program. In 2026, God willing, she will begin working as the first full-time doctor of the Fr. Andrés Girón Orthodox Medical Clinic in Aguacate.

Please pray for Jesse and Juanita as they continue to answer their calling to serve Christ in Central America, under the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos.
