A Legacy of Leadership, A Future of Growth

When you ask our new Executive Director, Dr. Nathan Hoppe, about his greatest accomplishment, he doesn’t mention awards or publications. He talks about people.
Over 25 years serving in Albania through the Mission Center, Dr. Hoppe quietly and faithfully mentored young leaders and fostered flourishing local Orthodox communities. Today, three of Albania’s six bishops—and nearly half of the country’s Orthodox clergy—were once his students.
“I didn’t form them,” Dr. Hoppe says humbly. “But I contributed to their formation.”

This long-term investment in people reflects the heart of Orthodox mission work: to cultivate vibrant Eucharistic communities that nurture faithful around the world. It also reflects the kind of leadership Dr. Hoppe brings to the Mission Center—grounded in steady commitment, real outcomes, and strong relationships.
As the Orthodox Christian Mission Center’s longest-serving missionary, Dr. Hoppe has seen the organization grow from humble beginnings to the global presence it is today. Now, as he prepares to step into his leadership role, we invite you to learn more about his journey and the expertise he will bring to the next chapter of the Mission Center.
