Theological Training in Albania

In January 2024, the Orthodox Christian Mission Center launched an innovative catechism program in Fier, Albania and surrounding areas, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolla. This initiative represents a strategic effort to cultivate vibrant Orthodox church communities through intentional catechism conducted by catechists and priests, trained for this purpose. This helps ensure the growth and sustainability of our faith communities.

At the heart of this mission are the students from the Theological School who, as part of their field training, venture into diverse locations each weekend reaching approximately 350 participants. These students are not just educators; they are the frontline in our mission to deepen theological understanding and spiritual engagement across the community.

The program is designed to do more than teach—it’s built to create lasting bonds within the community through a mix of Bible studies, spiritual songs, and community events. These activities are crucial for fostering a sense of belonging and shared faith, turning learning into a communal experience that enriches all participants.

The expansion of this program with summer camps and further educational opportunities emphasizes our commitment to developing a robust ecclesiastical community. This ongoing effort is just one example of how we are actively working to empower communities and bolster hands-on theological training.
