Manuels Embrace Next Mission
Since 2019, Fr. Thomas and Pres. Elizabeth Manuel have served as missionaries in Guatemala and southern Mexico. In that time, their family doubled in size as God blessed them with two children, the most recent in March 2022.
As the Manuels conclude their time as missionaries in another country, they return to pastor Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Loudoun County, Virginia a mission parish itself that is seeking a permanent home.
“In Guatemala, we experienced a vibrant, young church that was thirsting for the kingdom of God. The seeds of the message of the Gospel of Christ were planted in good soil and are now growing to produce spiritual maturity,” said Fr. Thomas. “It is a great blessing to have the Holy Apostles themselves as patrons and guardians of our new mission and the next chapter of our lives.”
We thank Fr. Thomas, Pres. Elizabeth, and their children for the time they dedicated in the mission field bringing others to Christ and His Church. We know that they will continue touching lives in their new assignment here in the United States, just at they did to countless others in Guatemala and Central America.
