Project Mexico - Casa Cuna Infant Caretaker

Project Mexico - Casa Cuna Infant Caretaker

Summary of Field Needs:

Project Mexico recently opened the Casa Cuna Infant Orphanage to provide foster support to children who are in the Tijuana Desarollo Integral de la Familia (similar to Child Protective Services in the U.S.). The Casa Cuna houses multiple babies, being cared for by 2 or 3 staff members, with the goal of providing higher quality care for these infants while they are in their “waiting period” of adoption. Missionaries serving in the Casa Cuna would be a part of this care-giving team for these young infants. Spanish language learning is necessary if not already fluent.

Length of Assignment: Minimum 6 months, preferred 1 year. May renew.

Reports to: Fr. Nicholas Andruchow, Director of Project Mexico/St. Innocent Orphanage.

Demographic Notes: Since 1988, Project Mexico has been building safe, secure and weather-tight homes for some of the most impoverished families in Northern Mexico. The associated St. Innocent Orphanage is located near Rosarito, Mexico, on a beautiful 16-acre ranch and was founded in 1996 by Greg Yova to provide a home for orphaned teenage boys. In 2024, the efforts of Project Mexico & St. Innocent Orphanage were expanded when the Casa Cuna San Felipe Infant Orphanage was opened.
