OCMC News - The Trek for Missions Ends Friday!
As Fathers Martin and Stephanos reach the summit of Mt. Whitney, they will conclude their trek with a Divine Liturgy and prayers for Orthodox missions.

This coming Friday, August 30, Fr. Martin and Fr. Stephanos Ritsi will conclude the Trek for Missions by climbing Mt. Whitney – the tallest mountain in the continental United States! At the summit, they will celebrate the Divine Liturgy, with special prayers for all missionaries and supporters of missions.

This journey has been a very special one for them. Through the Trek for Missions, their love for the great outdoors has become a powerful way for them to raise awareness and support for Orthodox missions. Already, over $120,000 of our $150,000 goal has been donated to help fund the training and sending of missionaries!

Although the Trek for Missions will finally be ending soon, it’s not too late for you to get involved, follow their progress, and help carry out Christ’s Great Commission! Here’s how you can participate:

It’s hard to believe that Frs. Martin and Stephanos are already close to the end of their 225-mile journey, but indeed they are! Thank you all for your prayers and your generous support. The trek isn't over yet, however, so please continue to follow along, and consider a donation to help us reach our goal. Every little bit helps us train, empower, and send more missionaries around the world!

Prayer for Missions

God of truth and love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Hear our prayer for those who do not know You. That they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth, and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in ourselves and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to Your goodness full of love, full of strength, and full of faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of all the missionary saints, Have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
