Thousands of Miles and Thousands of Dollars for Missions: 3rd Annual Trek4Missions in the Books!
Between the feasts of St. Herman of Alaska and the Elevation of the Holy Cross, over 150 people from over 35 parishes across the country trekked over 6,000 miles and raised over $50,000 during OCMC's 3rd Annual Trek4Missions.
This year’s trekkers stepped forward to get active for a good cause, following the charge of St. Paul: "Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith" (Hebrews 12: 1-2).
On foot, on bikes, and in the water, participants helped make a difference. The funds they raised will enable us to send and support more missionaries around the world. ”I got so much good feedback from our community,” reflected second-time participant Presbytera Jennifer Legakis. “They were uplifted, knowing that they were all working together for this good cause. Everybody learned something and took away something positive from the experience.”
To all those who participated and donated: THANK YOU! To the rest: it's not too late to get involved - parishes can put on their own local Trek4Missions events throughout the year! If you're interested, reach out to us at events@ocmc.org.
